Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was born into an ethnically diverse family. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline has two older brothers and a younger sister. Due to unrest in Lanka, her parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. When she finished her studies in Bahrain, she was awarded an Scholarship to study at Sydney's University of Sydney, where she pursued a diploma in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. She went to an institute called the Berlitz School of Languages which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was the crown of March 2006. she was also a part of Miss Universe 2006 She entered television after winning an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her show, Lanka Business Report, covers Sri Lankan business. Padukone is the child of of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew up in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. In her teens, Padukone competed at the national badminton tournaments level. However, she left the sport to make a profession as a designer. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her primary language. Padukone Village is located within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka in India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton champion who is retiring. The mother of the child is a traveling agent.
